ZEN Vision and Vision:M portable media players are capable of rendering video in a variety of formats. In addition to their high quality internal displays, both players support viewing on an external TV or display.

Content should be rendered at its native frame rate: 24 fps for film, 25 fps for PAL, 30 fps for NTSC. Performance is a function of CODEC, resolution, frame rate, and data rates for the video and audio streams. Recommended combinations should result in optimal quality and smooth performance.

Maximum parameters are listed for reference and performance may be compromised at these levels.

* Combined Windows Media Video and Audio bitrate should not exceed 800 Kbps.

Transcoding is the conversion of a file from one digital format to another. In relation to video, for example, converting AVI to MPEG.

You can use the bundled Creative Video Converter, in Creative Media Toolbox, to transcode video files on your PC to a format best suited for playback in your portable media player. The converted video files will also be transferred to your device when it is connected to your PC.

1. Connect your player to your PC.
2. Open Creative MediaSource. If it is not already in Organizer (full) view, click on the Player/Organizer View button to change it to Organizer view.



3. In the Sources window, click on the source that you want to transfer from. For example, you can select PC Music Library, or My Computer, or ZEN Vision:M.

   

4. In the content window (where the track information is displayed), select the tracks to transfer. To select multiple tracks, hold down the CTRL key and click on each track you want to transfer.
5. Click on the View button at the menu bar, and then check Show Right Panel.



6. In the Right Panel, select the destination. If you need to transfer from a PC to ZEN Vision:M, select ZEN Vision:M, and then click on the Transfer button (see below).



7. The Now Transferring dialog box appears, showing the current transfer status.



When the transfer is complete, wait for approximately 10 seconds before disconnecting your player from your PC.

Creative Sync Manager is part of Creative MediaSource and Creative Media Explorer. You can use it to transfer and manage video clips, audio tracks, or pictures. You can also use it to synchronize your calendar and tasks with Outlook.

1. Connect your player to your PC.
2. Open Creative MediaSource. If it is not already in Organizer (full) view, click on the Player/Organizer View button to change it to Organizer view.



3. Highlight and click on Creative ZEN Vision:M listing in the Sources window. Click on Sync Manager at the menu bar to start it.



4. On the next screen, select the synchronization source, direction and target.

   

5. Follow the directions on the screen to complete the synchronization process.

When the transfer is complete, wait for approximately 10 seconds before disconnecting your player from your PC.
